Sporting Ranch Capital, L.P. (the "Fund") is a real estate private equity fund formed to acquire recreational ranch properties in the Rocky Mountain West ("RMW") at distressed prices. The Fund will focus on unimproved, resource rich properties, create value through specific enhancement programs and monetize the properties at trophy sporting ranch valuations. The General Partner, Sporting Ranch Capital Management, L.P. ("SRCM") has assembled an experienced management team including partner/initial investor, T. Boone Pickens, and will attempt to capitalize on its direct experience in both the capital markets and trophy sporting ranch markets to deliver attractive risk adjusted investment returns.
The Fund intends to acquire unimproved, resource rich ranch properties in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, New Mexico and Utah. Ranch properties in these RMW states boast the highest concentration of desirable trophy sporting ranch attributes including; stunning beauty, gold medal fisheries and proximity to amenities. Trophy sporting ranch buyers have historically focused on the RMW creating consistent demand. The Fund intends to acquire 15 to 20 properties ranging in size from 200 to 1,000 acres. The Fund intends to invest $2 to $8 million in each property believing demand is greatest for properties such as these.
Limited Partners have the opportunity to use the properties in the portfolio for personal recreation subject to restrictions established by SRCM.
